And it shall come to pass in that day,
_that thou shalt take up this proverb
_against the king of Babylon, and say:
_How hath the oppressor ceased,
_the golden city ceased!
The Lord hath broken the staff of the wicked,
_the scepters of the rulers.
He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke,
_he that ruled the nations in anger,
_is persecuted,
_and none hindereth.
