The people of Zemnarihah were adherents and combatants under the leadership of Zemnarihah, a leader of the Gadianton robbers during the period recounted in the Book of Mormon. As Zemnarihah orchestrated an offensive against the Nephites, he commanded his followers to besiege the Nephite people. However, the campaign met with significant challenges, leading to substantial losses. In a bid to strategize their failing efforts, Zemnarihah instructed his people to abandon the siege and attempt a retreat to the remote regions in the far north (3 Nephi 4:23).
The withdrawal, however, did not secure their safety or success. As they attempted to escape, many among the people of Zemnarihah were captured by the Nephite forces and surrendered as prisoners. The Nephites’ efforts to quell the Gadianton threat were effective, as the remainder of Zemnarihah’s forces were slain, leaving a stark outcome to their engagements against the Nephites (3 Nephi 4:27). This marked a decisive moment in the broader conflict between the Nephites and the Gadianton robbers, with the people of Zemnarihah facing defeat and dispersal.
