Even though I have argued that Yahweh had promised Mormon that he would survive the battle, Yahweh had probably given him no details. As it happened, Mormon fell wounded and lay undetected, and presumably dead, among the other wounded and dead. But the Lamanites would not have overlooked even his corpse unless he had also removed any insignia or distinctive battle dress.
