As you study 4 Nephi 1:24–35, ponder the effects of pride among the people. Consider the negative effects of wearing costly apparel, dividing into social classes, building up churches to get gain, denying the true church, persecuting the faithful, and establishing secret combinations. How does each manifestation of pride become progressively worse? Have you seen this pattern? How are people today, perhaps even in the Church, exhibiting similar manifestations of pride?
