How might the Nephites’ experience with the Savior apply to us?

Thomas R. Valletta

Notice the process on this second day. The multitude gathers together (v. 4). They are taught by the Lord’s chosen servants and unite in prayer for their greatest desire, which is to receive the Holy Ghost (vv. 6–9). They are baptized with water and then are “filled with the Holy Ghost and with fire” (v. 13). Angels minister unto them and then Jesus appears and also ministers unto them (vv. 10–15). Though we may not expect a personal visit from the Savior, are there parts in this pattern that might allow you to have the Holy Ghost and the Savior as a more significant influence in your life?
