“Remember to Be Charitable”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

We are under obligation in some cases to help to bring about the answers to our prayers. It is not enough to pray that God will alleviate the suffering of the hungry, clothe the naked, lift up the hands that hang down, or strengthen the feeble knees; where possible we must extend ourselves in Christian service to the needy and less fortunate if we expect to enjoy the peaceful assurance that the Lord is pleased with our offerings. Truly, “charity preventeth a multitude of sins” (JST, 1 Peter 4:8).
