Amulek focuses on their interest in the coming of “the Son of God.” They had asked Alma whether they should believe in the “one God” to obtain the fruit about which he spoken, or how they “should plant the seed, or the word of which he had spoken, which he said must be planted in their hearts; or in what manner they should begin to exercise their faith” (Alma 33:1; see accompanying commentary). Because the Zoramites denied the Messiah, these questions about the “one God” were the people’s attempt to come to terms with a new concept.
