“God’s servants are only instruments in his hands. Mormon’s statement that God ‘verified his word unto [the sons of Mosiah] in every particular’ (Alma 25:17) coupled with the reminder of Abinadi’s death (Alma 25:11) should cause us to note that God allowed Abinadi to die as a martyr yet protected the sons of Mosiah from death just as he had promised them (Mosiah 28:7).
