To the Nephite spies great astonishment, they saw a "numerous host of the Lamanites" in the land of Minon (Alma 2:24). Presumably, these Lamanites had come from the land of Nephi; however, nothing is mentioned about the land of Manti. According to Alma 22:27, the land of Manti was by the head of the river Sidon in the narrow strip which separated the land of Nephi from the land of Zarahemla, and presumably would have had to have been traversed by invading Lamanites.
