Nephi taught the doctrine of Christ, and he noted that more of Christ’s doctrine would be revealed after He came into mortality. Christ would then give teachings similar to what he gave for centuries, although there would be new doctrine, too, like vicarious work for the dead. Nephi lamented not being able to disclose more of the plain and powerful doctrine of Christ, but the Spirit would not allow him to continue because of the lack of preparation and unworthiness of men.
