“Shake off the Chains of Him That Would Bind You Fast”
The chains of Satan—those with which he binds mankind into servitude and slavery—are forged through such links as apathy (2 Nephi 1:13), ignorance of the things of eternity (Alma 12:9-11), false doctrine (2 Nephi 28:22), and sin (see John 8:31-34). Enoch the seer “ beheld Satan; and he had a great chain in his hand, and it veiled the whole face of the earth with darkness; and he looked up and laughed, and his angels rejoiced” (Moses 7:26).
