Intercession on behalf of mankind had to occur at the Creator’s level. Only the application of infinite power, infinite love, infinite grace, infinite mercy could have rendered death powerless for all mankind and opened the gateway for all to “work out [their] own salvation with fear and trembling” (Philippians 2:12; compare Moroni 9:27).
