“The Resurrection Must Needs Come… by Reason of the Fall”
The fall of Adam brought both temporal and spiritual death into the world. The atonement of Christ “abolished death, and hath brought [eternal] life and immortality to light through the gospel” (2 Timothy 1:10). Adam brought death, while Christ brought life. Adam is the father of mortality, Christ the father of immortality.
