“A Way for the Ransomed to Pass Over”

Brant Gardner

Israel continues to invoke Yahweh’s powerful intervention in the past. A God who was once so powerful could act again. The mention of Israel’s passage through the sea when the people left Egypt was a triumph over both the forces of nature and Egypt’s military might. God, acting through Moses, could turn the unstable waters into a solid “way” over which “the ransomed” could cross.
