Here is another Servant Song (see also commentary at 1 Nephi 21:1–6). The servant is likely not Israel as a people, because the suffering is undeserved; this could only be the Savior.

To set one’s face “like a flint” (a very hard stone) means to be firm, steadfast, determined.
The “fear” spoken of in verse 10 means reverence, honor.
