These covenants may refer, in the first place, to the blessings which Jacob gave his sons before his death, and more particularly those bestowed upon Joseph, Ephraim and Judah, as representatives of the people. (8) These referred more especially to the inheritance of Canaan and blessings connected therewith. The angel reminds Nephi of the covenants. It is always well to remember God's promises and our obligations.
